Essex does have some amazing spots, especially on the coast. Mersea Island, about 20 minutes from Colchester is definitely one of them. Great for foodies, idyllic for sailors and frustrating for seafront house dreamers. You will want to move tomorrow.
Annoyingly got a parking ticket, but my fault entirely and almost worth it for the photographs!

At Home With Cracker The Hamster

Whatever your line of work, it’s always good to try and do a few personal projects in a year. This one came along purely by chance watching my daughter play with Cracker the hamster in her dolls house. We took the house outside to get some natural light, gave everything a spring clean and got to work. This selection is the result of quite a few takes. Hamsters don’t stay still…..ever.

Planning a Winter Wedding 2013/14?

Although March usually brings signs of spring,
I am writing this with a blizzard blowing outside and it looks like winter is here for a while longer.
That said, winter weddings can be fantastic. Take Scott and Tracey for example who had a beautiful day in December last year at Hempstead House.
A very romantic setting with the tree and roaring fire in the drawing room. It was everything a winter wedding should be.
Thanks guys for being so brilliant.

Shopping Heaven & Photo Heaven

I can see a great compromise forming in 2013 between me and my wife. We both head to the amazing shopping mall’s we have in London and the South East. She can head off shopping (within reason!) and I can do what I love to do best – take photos. This was taken at Westfield, Stratford early on a Sunday evening at their amazing food hall.
It is a beautiful place. Pure and simple.

Cue Bexy & Neil’s amazing wedding day. I love September. The warmth is still there and the light is perfect. We had a wonderful afternoon at The Minnis, Minnis Bay in Kent.

Comedy Christmas Card Photo Gets On TV!

My relationship with Tom & Nathalie Webb continues its journey. First, we got together last spring for their pre-wedding shoot with a distinctly ‘The Good Life’ theme. Then there was the amazing wedding. Then little Charlie came along and now their latest booking was to create something fairly cheesy for the ‘family Christmas card. What better to set a scene than a roaring fire (thank you so much to the Chestfield Barn pub!), over the top jumpers for people and animals alike and a lot of Chrimbo props.

What I hadn’t predicted was one of the photos making it on to the BBC’s One Show the other evening. They were asking for pictures of family Christmas cards to be emailed in and of course Nathalie had to oblige. Here is what happened plus a selection of photos from the shoot. Enjoy!

Action Stations with a real Spitfire!

One thing you can pretty much guarantee on the Kent coast is a breeze. Ideal for our pre-wedding shoot with Rebekah, Neil and Alfie and a kite! We met up at Westgate-on-Sea and had a great hour in the sunshine.

The Garden of England revisited

It was back in June that I met up with Rebecca & Jolyan for their pre-wedding shoot near Goudhurst. A couple of weeks ago, it was time for the main event. And what a brilliant day it was in a magnificent setting. Well done to Rebecca’s Mum and Dad for all their hard work on the garden! Here is a small selection from the day.

I had an excellent couple of hours with Sara, David and little Grace who was quite amazing. As you can see, already very photogenic with no need for smiles. Just very cool and calm in her own way!
